Every weekend in winter, I drive up to the ski hill and back so snow performance is important. Also wanted something more quiet and smoother for my 95% daily driver but I still needed a 3 peak winter rated tire. Had LT Duratrac's on before, but once those started to wear down a bit, they got really scary in the winter. I've been running these tires on my 2013 for the past 2.5 years. If there is any interest I’ll post more as the miles add up and driving conditions vary. I’ve found the tires to be very comfortable, great on road handling, and almost nonexistent road noise. In my limited time with these tires which so far has been an 88 mile round trip on a turnpike at speeds of 75-85 mph and some city driving. The APT promises a more comfortable ride, better road/highway manners, better wet traction over the AT while still having an aggressive enough tread pattern to be classified as an All Terrain and carries the Tri Peak snow severe service indication. As soon as I was certain and ready to buy, I saw the General Grabber APT and the cycle started all over again. I poured over the reviews and advice on TW and various other sources and finally made my mind up on General Grabber AT. They were great on the big heavy Tahoe, and came factory on the JK. I was afraid the beefy BFG’s might be a little more than I wanted on this truck. Great tires and never gave them a second thought. My last two rigs were a 2009 Tahoe set up for overlanding running BFG TA KO2’s and a 2016 2dr Jeep JK running BFG MT’s. While I am new to Tacoma, I am not new to the world of All Terrain, Mud Terrain, Overlanding and Off-roading. I’m sure most folks on TW are like me and agonize over our next tire choice and change our mind many many times before pulling out our wallet. It had 52k miles on the original BFG Rugged Terrains and was due for some new shoes. I bought my new to me 2011 TRD Off Road Acesss cab about a month ago. There just isn’t much online about these fairly new tires and hopefully this might help someone. I wanted to give a little feedback on a recent tire purchase.
